About

The founding conviction — not a credentials page.

The short version

I started Trent Consulting because I kept seeing the same failure pattern: companies buying tools before understanding their problems, hiring agencies that optimized for billable hours, and ending up with systems that worked in the demo but not in production.

The fix was not more technology. It was better thinking about technology — someone who understood both the strategy and the implementation, and was honest about which one was actually needed.

That is what I do. I help founders and operators figure out what is actually broken, build the right system to fix it, and make sure their team can run it without me.

Ecosystems, not pipelines

Most digital consulting treats your business like a pipeline: leads in, revenue out, optimize the funnel. That model works for simple products with short sales cycles. It breaks for everything else.

I think in ecosystems. Your website, your CRM, your support workflow, your content, your analytics — these are interconnected systems. Fixing one without understanding the others creates new problems. The audit comes before the prescription because you cannot optimize a system you do not understand.

This is why every engagement starts with listening and mapping, not with a pitch deck and a predefined solution.

The path here

2012

Started in digital operations — building systems, not decks.

2016

Shifted to advisory after seeing the same problems at every company.

2019

Went independent. First clients were founders who wanted honesty.

2022

Added AI advisory when the hype cycle made clarity more valuable than tools.

Now

Working with 10–15 clients per year. Deliberately small.

How I think about the work

Four principles that shape every engagement.

Systems over campaigns
I build things that keep working after the engagement ends. If your team cannot run it without me, I have not done my job.
Honesty over comfort
I will tell you if the idea is wrong, the timeline is unrealistic, or you are not ready for what you are asking for. That conversation saves more money than any implementation.
Evidence over intuition
Opinions are cheap. I bring data, frameworks, and prior outcomes. When I recommend something, I can show you why.
Small and intentional
I work with a limited number of clients at once. This is not a capacity constraint — it is a quality decision. Depth requires attention.

What this is not

Clarity about what I am not saves everyone time.

  • An agency with a team of juniors and a senior on the pitch deck
  • A vendor who disappears after delivery
  • A generalist who claims expertise in everything
  • Someone who will tell you what you want to hear
  • A replacement for your team — I work alongside them
